1 ESO Protozoan Amoeba

Amoeba or ameba are single-celled organisms lacking internal tissues and organs. They move by pseudopods and belong to rhizopods group.

Amoeba proteus is busy capturing a ciliate by surrounding it with its pseudopodia. The nucleus can be seen just below the pseudopodia.

Protozoan Acanthamoeba is a free-living amoeba found in  water, including tap water. Can infect the cornea and cause blindness.

Entamoeba histolytica is a protozoan which causes Amebic dysentery, or intestinal amebiasis.
